Today I’m happy to share a very unusual wedding between an English gentleman and a cheerful Cameroonian girl. This African wedding was celebrated in Luxembourg-city and was not the typical wedding you’d expect to see on a Friday morning. Check out the photos !
The bride getting ready at the Place d’Armes hotel
For the getting ready the couple had decided to book rooms in two separate hotel. For the bride, it was at the famous hotel Le Place d’Armes . I must admit I was impressed by the duplex suite of this very chic hotel.
The bride was surrounded with her relatives, which often the case during the getting-ready. As a wedding photographer, I really like shooting these candid and often emotional moments. The groom had booked a room a the hotel Beaux-Arts so I had to come back and forth between the two places. Fortunately they are not far from each other.
The wedding ceremony at Place Guillaume II
The first-look was very moving. It took place in front of the Luxembourg city-hall, with all the guests already waiting there.
After the ceremony, an African music band started playing some great rhythms with drums an xylophone. That was totally unreal because this place is usually very quiet on a Friday morning…. Everybody went crazy and started dancing under the watchful eyes of passersby.
A fantastic moment of joy and conviviality that I truly enjoyed photographing !
Cocktail at the National History&Art Museum of Luxembourg (MNHA)
We all walked from the city hall to the National History & Art Museum of Luxembourg where the cocktail was about to take place. It was very sunny and everybody enjoyed it. I managed to find some shadow to take some nice group shots, especially with the many kids attending the wedding.
I also took some time to shoot some bridal portraits near the Casemates.
